Tuesday February 24th, 2026 6.30pm-7.30pm at Hackney Archives. Doors: 6pm.

Joe Thomas, who was born and bred in Hackney, is the acclaimed author of the trilogy of novels White Riot, Red Menace and True Blue.
The trilogy concentrates on Hackney during the 1970s and 1980s, and the often violent racial and class tensions of the period that reflected wider changes within London and the UK.
During this talk Joe will explain how he prepared the background to his work and will be introducing True Blue, the third of the series.
