11th June Talk: 200 years of the Regents Canal by Carolyn Clark
Talk cancelled

Read about the Regents Canal in Carolyn Clark’s The East End Canal Tales published by the London Canal Museum.

Carolyn has prepared a list of books, films and online resources about the Regents Canal: https://hackneyhistory.org/regents-canal-resources/

Plans for the 200th anniversary celebration of the Regent’s Canal are either postponed, cancelled or on hold awaiting Government guidance on social distancing in the summer. Thanks to everyone who offered to take part and we’ll let you know when we do. In the meantime:

We’ve edited some of the oral histories from the Regent’s Canal Heritage Projects into podcasts and put online here:  Regent’s Canal Heritage Walk

The London Canal Museum has adapted our Islington canal exhibition from 2019 and put it online here: Industrial Islington.

We’ll let you know what is happening to the East End Canal Festival as things evolve. In the meantime attached image shows what the canal was like 200 years ago.
